Anadolu University Brings Turkish Culture to the Heart of Spain

Participation in the Prestigious Burgos Festival The student folk dance group from Anadolu University's Folklore Research and Application Center made a brilliant appearance at the 48th edition of the International Folklore Festival of the City of Burgos (Festival Internacional de Folclore Ciudad de Burgos), held from July 14 to 18, 2026, in Spain. Recognized as one of the oldest and most prestigious cultural events in Europe, this festival provided a platform for gathering diverse cultures from around the world. By participating in this event, the young artists of Anadolu University raised not only the name of their university but also the Turkish flag in one of the most important artistic circles of the Green Continent. Live Music and Display of Rich Anatolian Heritage The group's programs were conducted under the strict supervision of a team of prominent experts. Ahmet Şamil Erkoçak, Deputy Director of the Folklore Research Center, was responsible for overall coordination, while Dr. Mustafa Uluyol served as the dance instructor, overseeing the precision of movements and the authenticity of performances. One of the group's strengths that drew critical acclaim was the use of live music. The Turkish folk music orchestra, led by Hasan Uğur Önlü, breathed new life into the dance performances by playing traditional instruments.
