On June 16, 2026, Karabuk University (KBÜ) hosted 48 students and professors from 7 European countries. The event took place under the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP), focusing on emerging technologies.

Karabuk University (KBÜ) has once again solidified its position as one of Turkey's international education hubs. In mid-June 2026, the university hosted a delegation of 44 students and 4 professors from 13 different universities across 7 European countries [1]. This program, organized as an "Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program" (BIP), aimed to strengthen academic cooperation and technical knowledge exchange between EU member states and Turkey.

Details of the Scientific Exchange and Participating Countries This edition of the Erasmus+ programs at Karabuk University included representatives from Spain, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Lithuania, Portugal, and Greece [2]. The Karabuk University International Relations Office was responsible for coordinating this five-day event. Participating students from prestigious institutions such as the Catholic University of Saint Anthony of Murcia (Spain) and the University of Ioannina (Greece) attended this scientific gathering to learn alongside their Turkish counterparts [1].

Focus on Artificial Intelligence in Medical and Dental Sciences The primary focus of the training provided in this program was the application of new technologies in the health sector. The Karabuk University Faculty of Dentistry held a workshop titled "Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry." Simultaneously, the Faculty of Health Sciences implemented a specialized program titled "Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization in Nursing" for the participants [1][2]. These trainings were delivered in person, utilizing the university's advanced laboratory infrastructure to familiarize participants with the latest digital achievements in the field of treatment.

Field Visits and Cultural Experiences in Safranbolu In addition to the theoretical components, the program included technical visits to the Karabuk Oral and Dental Health Hospital as well as the university's Training and Research Hospital [1]. Participants gained first-hand experience with Turkey's clinical and laboratory infrastructure. In the cultural section, a visit was organized to the historic city of Safranbolu, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This visit provided an opportunity for European students to become acquainted with the region's authentic historical and architectural heritage and to establish deeper cultural interactions [2].

The Importance of Internationalization from the Perspective of University Officials At the closing ceremony, Professor Dr. Elif Çepni, Vice Rector of Karabuk University, emphasized the vital importance of international cooperation. She noted that Erasmus+ programs not only enhance the academic level of students but also create lasting social and cultural bonds that will play a significant role in the future of global scientific diplomacy [1]. At the end of the ceremony, all participants were presented with valid certificates of completion and commemorative gifts.
