Kastamonu University Rises to 48th in TÜBİTAK Research Rankings

Kastamonu University has once again proven its scientific prowess at the national level. According to reports published in June 2026 by the Academic Research Support Programs Presidency (ARDEB) of TÜBİTAK, the university has solidified its position among Turkey's top universities with a significant leap. Statistical Performance and Research Budgets According to statistical data for the five-year period from 2021 to 2025, Kastamonu University submitted a total of 491 project applications to TÜBİTAK. Among these, 72 projects successfully received definitive financial support, and the number of active and ongoing projects at the university has reached 73. [2] The total budget for ongoing projects is estimated at 73.5 million Turkish Liras, with over 44 million Liras directly injected into projects as financial support. These figures indicate a remarkable growth in the university's research capacity compared to previous years.

Statements from the University Rector Professor Doctor Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Rector of Kastamonu University, reacted to this achievement by stating that the research and development culture at the university has reached maturity. He emphasized: "The ARDEB data results reflect an increase in the capacity for science production and the development of innovative projects by our academics.
