Near East University Graduates 2,613 Students; A Four-Day Festival in Cyprus

Near East University, recognized among the top 500 universities in the world and as the 39th most impactful university globally according to the latest international rankings, hosted one of the region's largest academic events last week. The university sent 2,613 students across various academic levels into the next stage of their professional lives during a four-day "Graduation Festival" held at the "NEU Event Park" complex [1].

Details of the Four-Day Graduation Festival This marathon of celebration began on June 22 and continued each night with the presence of thousands of family members, faculty, and state officials. On the first night, 548 students from the faculties of Education, Science and Letters, Fine Arts, Law, Theology, and Communication received their diplomas [2]. On the second night, it was the turn of 809 graduates from the fields of Economics, Architecture, Sports Sciences, and Tourism, forming the largest group of graduates in this term [3].

The award process continued on the third night with the graduation of 692 students from the faculties of Engineering, Nursing, Health Sciences, and Agriculture. Finally, the fourth and final night was dedicated to the faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine, during which 564 new specialists took their oaths and entered the professional world [1].

Key Messages and the Presence of AI Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the university, emphasized in his speech that this year's graduates are the first group to graduate while the university is ranked among the top 500 universities in the world. He noted that this success is the result of decades of effort and the university's steadfast vision [3].

A distinctive feature of the ceremony was the video message from "Ai. Prof. DUX," the university's AI-based professor. In a humorous and inspiring message to the students, he said: "Success is not about knowing everything, but about curiosity, effort, making mistakes, and rising again; an area where humans still perform much better than us (AI)" [1].
