Students of Tatvan Vocational School (Tatvan MYO) at Bitlis Eren University have achieved significant global success by publishing the results of their research project in a prestigious international journal.

Scientific Brilliance of Tatvan Students in International Forums

In a major scientific achievement, students of the Laboratory Technology program at Tatvan Vocational School (Tatvan MYO) succeeded in publishing their environmental research results in a prestigious international journal indexed in SCI-Expanded. This success, reported on June 16, 2026, demonstrates the high scientific capability of the students at this center on a global level [1]. The research team included outstanding students such as Şilan Yasak (Project Manager), Esra Erdoğan, Rojda Ertuğrul, and Zehra Demir, working under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Sinan Mehmet Turp.

TÜBİTAK Project: From Local Education to Global Credibility

This research, conducted with the support of the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program, focused on the impact of recycling education on environmental awareness levels. The title of this scientific article is "The Effect of Recycling Education on Environmental Awareness Using Normalized Learning Gain," which managed to attract the attention of international scientific reviewers [1]. This project was not only a theoretical achievement but also an extensive practical action in the Bitlis region, the results of which are now available to researchers worldwide as a scientific reference.

Impact of Recycling Education on 444 Students

In the operational phase of this research, a total of 444 students from primary and secondary levels in two different schools in Bitlis received specialized training in recycling and environmental protection. Using the scientific method of "Normalized Learning Gain (NLG)," researchers carefully examined changes in student knowledge levels before and after the training [1]. The results showed that early education has a profound impact on enhancing the environmental knowledge of the younger generation and can serve as a model for other regions of the world.

Bitlis Eren University's Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

This international success comes at a time when Bitlis Eren University has organized numerous environmental activities in recent weeks. These actions include the "A Breath for the Future" project, where pine saplings on the university campus were placed under protection [2]. Additionally, holding specialized conferences on sustainable water management and rainwater harvesting demonstrates the comprehensive approach of this university and the Tatvan school to the environmental challenges of the 21st century [1]. These efforts, alongside recent scientific successes, have solidified this educational institution's position as a leading entity in promoting sustainability.

Tatvan students achieved great success in environmental awareness by publishing a scientific article at an international level.
