Turkey-Azerbaijan University Board of Trustees Meeting in Baku; A Step Towards Scientific Transformation

Innovative Educational Model and Participation of Top Universities Founded through the joint will of the presidents of both countries, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Ilham Aliyev, the Turkey-Azerbaijan University follows a unique educational model. During the meeting, it was emphasized that the university's educational programs are implemented through direct collaboration with top-tier Turkish universities, including Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ), Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ), and Hacettepe University [3]. This collaboration allows Azerbaijani students to study in fields such as Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Food Engineering according to global standards, benefiting from the expertise of prominent professors from both nations.

2026 Vision: Infrastructure Development and Talent Acquisition In another part of the meeting, reports regarding the physical and academic progress of the university were presented. The Board of Trustees emphasized the need to strengthen research capacities and establish advanced laboratories for graduate students. Erol Özvar noted during the session that TAÜ will serve as a successful model not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire Turkic world in the field of higher education [2]. Furthermore, plans to increase the number of international students and hold joint scientific conferences in the second half of 2026 were approved [3].
