Turkish Green Crescent Presents Awards for 'KampüsAktif' Student Design Competition

Student Creativity Shines at Sepetçiler Palace On July 8, 2026, the award ceremony for the "KampüsAktif" student design competition was held at the "Glass Pavilion" (Camlı Köşk) in Istanbul's historic Sepetçiler Palace. Organized by the Turkish Green Crescent (Yeşilay) and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the competition provided a platform for students of architecture, urban planning, and design to present their ideas for healthier and more active university campuses [1][2].

Top Winners and Selected Projects In this edition of the competition, 125 projects from 7 different regions of Turkey were submitted, and the top teams were announced after rigorous judging: - First Place: The student team from Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGÜ) won the 90,000 TL prize. Their design focused on social interactions and improving open spaces. - Second Place: Fatma Turan from Kocaeli University received the 60,000 TL prize for her individual project. - Third Place: A team from Abdullah Gül University (AGU) secured the 35,000 TL prize [2][3].

Linking Architecture with Addiction Prevention Prof. Dr. Murat Şentürk, a member of the Yeşilay Board of Directors, emphasized at the ceremony that the fight against addiction is not limited to treatment, but that creating physical environments that encourage young people toward positive and social activities plays a key role in prevention.
