More than 15,000 students from across Turkey presented their creative solutions for sustainable life on distant planets as part of a major scientific project. This event is part of Turkey's 'Milli Teknoloji Hamlesi' vision, preparing the next generation for space travel.

Within the framework of the 'Milli Teknoloji Hamlesi' (National Technology Initiative) vision, which aims to build a fully independent technology ecosystem in Turkey, the 'DENEYAP' Technology Workshops hosted an unprecedented scientific event. In this festival, held under the title 'End-of-Term Project Festival,' more than 15,000 talented students from across the country gathered to showcase their models for life on planets other than Earth [1].

Life in Smart Capsules: A Challenge Beyond Borders In this term, students faced a challenge titled 'Life in a Smart Capsule.' They were tasked with designing projects to ensure human life on an unknown planet light-years away from Earth. Student teams first analyzed the atmospheric and geographical features of their imaginary planets and then conducted risk analyses based on the structure of water, air, and soil in that environment. The result of these efforts was the construction of self-sufficient life support units and innovative engineering solutions that earned the admiration of experts [1].

Extensive Participation in Istanbul's Technology Hubs As one of the main centers of this festival, Istanbul witnessed a tight competition among 2,151 students in 488 teams. These competitions were held in the Asian and European sections at the 'Muzahir Sille' Sports Complex and the 'Ahmet Cömert' Sports Hall, respectively. At the national level, this massive organization set a new record for student scientific activities with the participation of 2,633 middle and high schools [1]. This volume of participation demonstrates the success of Turkey's educational programs in attracting youth to the fields of aerospace and basic sciences.

From Ideation to Production; Turkey's 2026 Vision Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır, Chair of the Board of the T3 Foundation, emphasized the social impact of these projects while visiting the competition site. She noted that these workshops are not just an educational environment but a bridge for transforming abstract ideas into manufactured products in the near future. Given that Turkey will host the International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026) in Antalya, these student activities are considered the foundation for training specialized human resources for the country's long-term space programs, including the Moon mission [2].

This festival once again proved that Turkish youth, utilizing modern training in DENEYAP workshops, are not only seeking to learn technology but are also looking to redefine the future of humanity in space. The success of these 15,000 young inventors is an important step toward Turkey becoming one of the main players in the field of global space exploration.
