A group of students in Turkey's Kastamonu province staged a creative theatrical performance to warn citizens about the rising threats of digital fraud and methods for protection in cyberspace.

Art in Service of Security: Kastamonu Students' Initiative In an admirable effort to increase public awareness, 11 female students residing in the "Hüma Hatun" dormitory, affiliated with the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, performed a play titled "Uncommitted Crimes Unit" (İşlenmemiş Suçlar Birimi) [1]. Designed to combat digital fraud and cyberspace abuse, the play attempts to explain the complexities of the digital world to the general public in a simple and artistic language.

Scammers' Tactics on the Theater Stage The story of the play focuses on common fraud methods where opportunists impersonate prosecutors, police, soldiers, or government officials to deceive citizens and steal their assets [2]. By reenacting real-life scenarios, the students showed the audience how scammers use social engineering techniques to instill fear or greed in victims. The performance is the result of four months of continuous practice under the supervision of director Füsun Yıldız and is based on a script by amateur writer Ahmet Arslan [1].

Social Awareness Through Performance The director of the work, Füsun Yıldız, emphasized in media interviews that their main goal is to connect youth with contemporary social issues. She noted that in each term, an important social topic is selected for performance, and this semester, given the significant increase in cybercrime, the theme of "Digital Conscience" and the dangers of social networks was prioritized [2]. This performance not only addresses educational aspects but also provides an opportunity for the students' artistic growth and strengthens their sense of social responsibility.

The Necessity of Media Literacy in the New Era Internet fraud has become one of the biggest security challenges in Turkey in recent years. Kastamonu security authorities had previously warned about false promises of "high profits in a short time" and fake websites [3]. The performance of such plays by the younger generation is considered an effective step toward improving the community's media literacy. The main message of the play is clear: in the digital world, one should never trust suspicious calls requesting money or personal information, even if the caller identifies themselves as an official [1][2].
